Information: The Jammu and Kashmir Police has issued a notification for the recruitment of Constable (Home Department) Vacancies through Direct Recruitment. Age Limit
- Minimum Age limit for all Candidates : 18 Years
- The maximum age limit for OM/SC/ST-1/ST-2/RBA/ALC/IB/OBC/EWS/Government Service/Contractual Employment candidates is 28 years.
- Maximum age limit for in-service police personnel candidates: 30 years (candidates must be born between January 1, 1994 and January 1, 2006).
- SPOS and Volunteer Home Guards (VHGs) candidates have a maximum age limit of 40 years (born between January 1, 1984 and January 1, 2006).
- Every Ex-Serviceman who has served in the Armed Forces shall be permitted to deduct the period of such service from his Actual Age, and if the Resultant Age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post by more than three years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the Age Limit condition. Candidate should not be born after January 1, 2006

Physical Standard Test :
For Male :
- Height : 5' - 6'' (minimum)
- Chest girth : 32'' (unexpanded)
- Chest girth : 33 1/2 '' (expanded)
For Females : Height : 5' - 2'' (minimum)
Relaxation in Physical Standard :
For the candidates belonging to the Gorkha Community and Bot Tribe, the minimum Height shall be relaxable by 2''.
Physical Endurance Test :
The candidates who meet the above physical stadards shall be requuired to undergo physical endurance test, which shall consist of the following:
For Male candidates:
- Long Race: 1600 meters in 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
- Pushups: 20 (one cycle of up and down to be counted as one)
For Female candidates:
- Long Race: 1000 meters in 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
- Shot Put (4Kgs): 14 ½ feet in three attempts.
